Acrobats at the Cirque Fernando (Francisca and Angelina Wartenberg) is an 1879 painting by Pierre-Auguste Renoir. It depicts two young Italian sisters, Francisca and Angelina Wartenberg, taking their bows after a trapeze performance at the Cirque Fernando in Montmartre, Paris. Dressed in pale pink tights and gold-trimmed costumes, the girls hold balls out to the audience to solicit coins, while a row of spectators fills the background.
Renoir painted the work the same year he met the sisters, capturing the immediacy of the performance with loose, luminous brushwork. The painting is held by the Art Institute of Chicago.
Painted in 1879.
